FLI in Action
The Future Leaders Institute partners with Bay Area high schools in order to implement and intensive and rigorous year-long program for social change based on the passions of visionary youth leaders.
In teams of 15 - 25, students brainstorm their personal passions & causes they care deeply about in their schools, neighborhoods and/or the world and find ways to combine the two in order to make a lasting social change project. For a detailed overview of how our program works, you can click here.
Schools use The Future Leaders Institute program in a variety of capacities:
- To help support student efforts in filling community service obligations
- To augment classes in leadership, civics, government & economics
- To build a culture of social justice into school consciousness
- To organize the local community and garner local support
- To involve students in raising funding and awareness for school priorities
- To structure and support senior project requirements
